He is extremely capable with his boat, knows the waters very well, gets you on BIG fish even when BIG fish don’t seem to be around but he also is open to doing what the customer wants to do. "Lisa, my wife, and I spent 4 days fishing with Shane and Ephraim in August 2017.These guys really know the ocean. They get you where you need to be and when you need to be there. They study and watch the tides, weather and the GPS depth finder to find the best habitat for the species you are fishing for at the moment. As you will fish multiple species during the course of the day. Shane and Ephraim have such an understanding of the ocean, it’s simply incredible.
I will not tell you how much we brought home, but to say it made a lot of friends and family happy, may be an understatement! "My dad and I have been fishing together for as long as I can remember. As the years went on, there was still one goal that had eluded him; catching a fish that was bigger than he was. We started heading to Alaska looking for big halibut almost a decade ago. After a few different captains at various outfits we ended up with the pleasure of joining a boat piloted by Captain Ephraim. His calm demeanor and sure skills with the boat made it a pleasure to go out with him and we got into some pretty decent halibut, but the monster still eluded dad. Based on our experience with Captain Ephraim, we decided to book again for the next year and this time around Ephraim got our friend Pete onto a real monster: 376 lbs! Talk about a great trip. Now dad was really excited about his opportunity to close out his goal, so we eagerly booked another trip for the next year. Finally, it was dad's turn. Ephraim put us on a new spot and dad was soon hooked up on a real beauty of a halibut. I don't know if I've ever seen dad as excited about a fish as he was about this monster 250 pounder. Thanks to Captain Ephraim's extensive knowledge of the fishing grounds and local conditions, dad pulled in the biggest fish he ever caught."

In June, 2016, I had the pleasure of fishing with Shane Ring in Alaska with my father and then, 93 year old grandfather. I had the time of my life. Upon meeting Shane, I was skeptical at first due to his young age. Once on the water, all of that changed. Shane’s knowledge of the water and the fish definitely showed as we caught close to our limits of Salmon every day, and caught our limit of Halibut everyday as well. Shane also made the trip enjoyable for my grandfather. At 93, he is in great health, but still requires a little more help than the average fisherman. When I saw that Shane and Ephraim had opened their own lodge, I was ecstatic. If you want the trip of a lifetime, to catch fish you only read about, book a trip with these two, you won’t regret it.
